• A Notion workspace account with admin or integration creation permissions
• WPForms Notion Integration Add-on installed with a valid GravityExtra license key

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Install and Activate the Add-on

1. Download the plugin zip file (wpforms-notion-addon-v-1.0.0.zip) from your GravityExtra My Account dashboard.
2. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
3. Upload and activate the plugin.
4. Navigate to WPForms > Notion Settings and enter your GravityExtra License Key, then click Activate License to unlock 1-click automatic updates.

Step 2: Create an Internal Integration in Notion

1. Go to Notion My Integrations (notion.so/my-integrations).
2. Click + New integration.
3. Give your integration a descriptive name (e.g., WPForms GravityExtra Connector) and select your target workspace.
4. Set capabilities to Read content, Update content, and Insert content.
5. Click Save, then copy the Internal Integration Secret (API Token) starting with ntn_... or secret_....

Step 3: Connect the Integration to Your Notion Database

1. Open Notion and navigate to the database page where you want form entries to be added.
2. Click the ••• (Options) menu at the top right of the page.
3. Scroll down to Connect to (or Add connections) and search for the integration name you created in Step 2.
4. Select it to grant permission. (Note: Notion requires you to explicitly share each database with the integration).
5. Copy the Database ID from the URL of your Notion database page (the 32-character alphanumeric string between your workspace name and the question mark).

Step 4: Configure Global API Settings in WordPress

1. In your WordPress admin, go to WPForms > Notion Settings.
2. Paste your Notion Internal Integration Secret into the API Token field.
3. Click Save Settings. Click Test Connection to confirm that the API token connects successfully to Notion.

Step 5: Configure the Notion Feed in Form Builder

1. Navigate to WPForms > All Forms and click to edit your form.
2. In the Form Builder left sidebar, click Settings > Notion.
3. Toggle Enable Notion Feed to ON.
4. Enter your Notion Database ID in the corresponding field.
5. In the Field Mapping Table, click + Add Field Mapping Row to map your form fields to Notion properties:
   • Notion Property Name: Enter the exact property name in your Notion database (e.g. Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Company).
   • WPForms Field: Select the form field from the dropdown that should populate this property.
   • Notion Property Type: Select the matching type (title, rich_text, email, phone_number, number, url, checkbox).
6. Click Save in the top-right corner of the Form Builder.

Step 6: Verify Form Submission

1. Open your form on the front end and submit a test entry.
2. Open your Notion database: a new row with all mapped data should appear immediately.
3. In WordPress, check WPForms > Entries to view the entry details. The entry log sidebar will display the Notion API response status and timestamp.

Troubleshooting & Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My form submits, but nothing appears in Notion?
A: The most common cause is that the Notion database has not been shared with your integration. In Notion, open your database, click the top-right ••• menu, go to Connect to, and ensure your integration is active. Also verify that the Database ID in form settings has no extra spaces or URL parameters.

Q: How do I map the Title property?
A: Every Notion database requires exactly one title property. Ensure you have one row in your Field Mapping Table with Property Type set to title (usually mapped to the visitor’s Name or Company).

Q: Are file attachments supported?
A: Yes! When a file upload field is mapped to a rich_text or url property, the public download URL of the uploaded file will be recorded directly into Notion.
