When users report software bugs or submit feature requests through Gravity Forms, the add-on talks directly to Linear’s modern GraphQL API. A new issue is instantly created within the designated Linear team and project, populated with all technical reproduction details.

Dynamic Priority, Labels & Assignees

Map form dropdowns (such as Bug, Enhancement, Critical, High) directly to Linear issue priorities (Urgent, High, Medium, Low) and custom team labels. Assign incoming issues automatically to team members or route them into active development cycles.

Rich Markdown Issue Descriptions

Leverage Gravity Forms merge tags combined with standard GitHub-flavored Markdown to construct comprehensive issue descriptions. Include operating system details, browser versions, user contact information, and reproduction steps in clean, readable tables.

1. API Key Authentication: Generate a Personal API Key in Linear.app and paste it into Gravity Forms Linear Settings to authorize secure GraphQL access.
2. Team & Project Selection: Create a form feed and select the Linear Team, Project, and default Cycle to receive incoming submissions.
3. Issue Property Mapping: Map form fields to Issue Title, Description template (supporting Markdown and merge tags), Priority level, and Labels.
4. Real-Time GraphQL Mutation: Upon form submission, the plugin executes an optimized GraphQL mutation to create the issue in sub-second speed.
5. Linear URL Enrichment: The newly created Linear Issue URL and ID are saved into the Gravity Forms entry meta for seamless cross-referencing.
