+ Age Verification

Add a proper age gate and age verification to any Gravity Forms form. The Gravity Forms Age Verification add-on shows a splash over the form before a visitor can use it — either a simple “Are you over the minimum age?” yes/no question or an enter-your-date-of-birth check — and remembers a visitor who passes with a cookie you control, so they are not asked again. A visitor who is under age is handled the way you choose: the form stays blocked with a message, they are redirected to a URL you set, or they see a custom message in place of the form.

It is built for the forms that legally need an age check: alcohol, wine and spirits, beer clubs, cannabis and CBD, vaping and tobacco, gambling and lottery, fireworks, 18+ and 21+ events, and adult products and content. The splash is the visitor experience, but the real protection is on the server: pick a Date field as the date of birth and the add-on works out the age on submit and rejects anyone below your minimum age. Because that check runs on the server, a visitor who skips or tampers with the splash in their browser still cannot get an under-age submission through.

Everything else is built for compliance and for your workflow. An {age} merge tag, computed from the date of birth, drops the visitor’s age straight into your notifications, confirmations and routing. A compliance attestation — the method used, the minimum age enforced and a timestamp — is stored on every entry, so you have an audit record that the age was checked. The add-on adds no new personal data of its own: it only ever keeps the date of birth the form already collects, and only when you have mapped a date-of-birth field. It is GravityForms-first: there is no third-party service to sign up for, no API key, and the add-on makes no outside HTTP calls at all.

When a form with the age gate on is shown, the add-on wraps it in a splash and, unless a valid remember-cookie is present, hides the form until the visitor answers. A yes/no splash asks whether they are over the minimum age; a date-of-birth splash reads the date they enter and works out their age in the browser. If they are old enough the form is revealed and, when you allow it, a cookie remembers the choice for the number of days you set. If they are under age the add-on blocks the form, redirects them or shows your message, as you configured. On submit, whatever happened in the browser, the add-on takes the date of birth from the Date field you mapped, computes the age on the server with leap-year and exact-birthday-safe, date-only maths, and rejects the submission with a message on the field when the visitor is below the minimum age — this is the check that cannot be bypassed. When a submission passes, the {age} merge tag is available from the date of birth and a compliance attestation (method, minimum age and timestamp) is written to the entry. The add-on contacts no external service and makes no outside HTTP request.
