Every form submission looks the same in your inbox, but they are not worth the same. A company with a real budget that wants to start this month should reach your sales team in minutes; a student asking for a free copy should not take the same slot. The Gravity Forms Lead Scoring add-on gives every new entry a score from rules you set on the form, and a grade from the score: Hot, Warm or Cold (you can rename them), or Disqualified.

Rules are simple sentences: Budget is $20k+, add 30 points; Work email is a free email address, take 15 points away; Seats needed is between 10 and 1000, add 15; Company size is Student, disqualify. They work on choices, numbers, text, email addresses and even the parts of a Name or Address field such as the country, and a checkbox field can give points for each ticked choice. The score is worked out on your server when the entry is saved, so it cannot be changed from the browser.

The result lives on the entry: a score, a coloured grade and a breakdown of which rules matched. Add Lead score and Lead grade columns to the Entries list, filter and export by them, put {lead_score} and {lead_grade} in emails and confirmations, and use the grade in conditional logic so a hot lead triggers an instant alert to sales while cold leads go to a nurture list. Change the rules any time and rescore older entries in bulk. Everything runs on your own site, with no outside service and no API key.

When a visitor submits the form, Gravity Forms saves the entry and the add-on scores it on the server, before any notification is sent. Each rule looks at one field or one part of a field. Choice rules compare the stored choice values; number rules read the number even when it is typed with a currency sign or thousands separators; email rules look at the domain of the address and know the common free providers, and you can add more in the settings. A points-per-choice rule adds the points of every ticked box. All matching rules add or subtract their points; if a Disqualify rule matches, the grade is Disqualified whatever the score. The score and the grade are stored as entry meta, which is why they appear as Entries list columns, in search filters and exports, and in the conditional logic of notifications, confirmations and add-on feeds. A breakdown of the rules that matched is saved with the entry and shown in a Lead score box on the entry screen. When you change the rules, the Rescore button and the bulk Rescore leads action work the score out again and leave a note on the entry. The add-on contacts no outside service.
