Drive Embed

GravityExtra Drive Embed puts the Google Drive folders you choose on your WordPress pages. Visitors browse a folder with breadcrumbs, sort by name, date or size, search inside the folder and its sub-folders, open previews of Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, PDF files, videos, audio and images, page through a gallery in a lightbox and download files. A front-end upload box sends files straight into a Drive folder. No Gravity Forms needed.

You decide who sees what. Each folder in the library has its own list of who may view it: everyone, logged-in users or chosen roles. Visitors never see Drive ids or Google addresses: previews and downloads are streamed through your site, so your Drive files can stay private, and a file is only served when it really sits inside the chosen folder. Link sharing on Google Drive is off unless you switch it on for a file, with a clear warning.

The plugin connects with your own Google Cloud OAuth client: you enter its client ID and secret, sign in with Google once, and the plugin keeps the tokens encrypted on your server and renews them there. It asks only for the Google permissions the features you use need, and Disconnect revokes the access at Google. Listings are cached for a few minutes so pages stay fast, and one button clears the cache.

Every request to Google is made by your WordPress server with your own OAuth client: the plugin lists folders with the Drive API, keeps the answers in a short-lived cache, and streams previews and downloads to the visitor after checking the folder's access rules and that the file sits inside that folder. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are exported as PDF for previews and downloads. The access token is stored encrypted, renewed on the server and never sent to a browser. Uploads are checked for type, content and size, counted per connection with an hourly and a daily limit, and sent to Drive in one step (or in a resumable upload for larger files).
